Thought you had given up..great new look…I expected to read blogs, red flags being thrown (yes, you may use it) about Rush buying your beloved St.Louis Rams. Then again Rush may bring back the bible thumping Curt Warner….
(smile) great to see you – been thinking quite a bit about you lately. Thank you, I’m glad you like the new blog; the style and content is a bit of a departure.
Oh, you must have heard me all the way over there screaming about Rush! I may write on it still – especially now that it looks like he has been pushed out of the bidding circle. [YIPPYYY] I simply love Curt too much to even CONSIDER that Rush owning the team might have held some appeal for him (sigh).
Rush is out, they finally threw the yellow flag for unsportsmanlike behavior.
Right now, I am enjoying the infighting among the various factions of the GOP. The tea-baggers have turned on the GOP, more moderate base…all that comes to mind is that sign at the zoo..”Please don’t feed the animals”……..
And heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’s out! Unsportsmanlike is a grand understatement for sure
omg Hockey…I have sat in shock over the madness that is the GOP. Could you even believe that whole tea-bagging thing? And the town halls? I know historically both parties will tend to find themselves out on a limb after a sound whooping but this is…..madness. That is the best way to describe it I think.
Right now, though, the democrats in Congress are being very foolish on this health care debate. They cannot seem to get out of their own way. They are going to become the sideshow while the GOP party smiles like the Cheshire cat. The Democrats need to pass a bill they can all agree upon. If that means abandioning the public option. The public option is waht was thrown in when they could not get what they really wanted. Pass the laws needed for health care reform. When they pass regulatins whereby the average person has access to affordable health care, he can purchase then you have success.
Yes exactly. It was thrown in. Universal…then single payer…then the public option. We happily shaved off all they wanted. I have not read the 2000 pages yet although Goddess willing, I will. But it would appear that “reform” as we see it now is PARTY TIME for the insurance companies. As you know…I spent the majority of my life uninsured because it was out of reach. I don’t believe this “reform” get us any closer to insuring those for whom health insurance is merely a distant luxury.
Let me get on my soapbox, here. There is simply no way the USA will ever get anything approaching a single payer system or universal healthcare. Those have health care provided by their employer would never accept any of the comprimises associated with a universal system. My health care is fantastatic. I cannot afford it… but so long as my employer is providing it.. why should I give it up? Some altruistic reason…no thank you…..but that is the key..the average person cannot afford healtcare and until a system is devised whereby the average person can afford to buy and own his own health care whether through vouchers from his employer, a cooperative or anything else, I am not interested. Make it so I buy buy
Well, I would avidly support a public option because it is just that…an OPTION. No amount of right-wing fabrication will that change that fact. It would force the insurance companies to recognize another player at the table. Competition has always resulted in a positive for consumers. You will not move from your coverage and certainly you shouldn’t. But for the 43 million uninsured, this would be an OPTION. For many, it would be the first time an insurance option was available to them. For those who have never been able to afford it…it would be an option. For those who have lost their jobs and could never afford the ridiculously priced Cobra…it would be an option. Now, having said this, I think there is a good chance this bill is crap. I am still working on getting my head around it.
